“LIGHTROOM SECRETS REVEALED”
A one day hands-on workshop limited to only 18 participants
Adobe Lightroom, when properly understood, is probably one of the most innovative and intuitive programs for photographers. It imports captured images, sets up a Data Asset Management (DAM) workflow, works on RAW and image files for both global and local enhancements and exports files (if required) to Photoshop. It also effortlessly prepares images for photo-stitching and High Dynamic Range (HDR) composites that also pass seamlessly to Photoshop, not to mention its vast range of special effects, great slideshows, print layouts and very attractive web designs. The ability to file, catalogue and search for images is worth the price of the software alone – no more lost images.
One of the desirable elements of Lightroom is that it works with tiny thumbnails of your RAW and Tiff files without touching your originals and you can have several different virtual versions of your images with no pixels being harmed or your hard drives clogged up with large image files. The ability to file, catalogue and search for images is worth the price of the software alone.
This workshop will release the awesome power of this amazing program and you will probably find you are spending less time in Photoshop as a result. The workshop will focus mainly on the library and develop modules in Lightroom as photographers will be concentrating most of their time on these.
Recommended for:
This ‘hands-on’ workshop is suitable as an introduction to photographers wanting to reach a working proficiency in Lightroom and for advanced photographers who want to maximise their use of the program. The workshop will also show you how to set up a proven system for cataloguing and searching your image files.
Requirements
Participants will require a notebook and their personal laptop computer loaded with a recent version of Adobe Lightroom or a trial version. Participants may use PC or MAC computers as the techniques are similar. Hand outs will be provided for reference during the course and for revision afterwards. A CD containing the images to be used during the workshop will also be supplied. Participants can therefore follow the techniques and skills demonstrated step by step.

There are a lot of great photographers on the speaking circuits who communicate their passion, but few are able to communicate passion as well and with a clear understanding and direction that the audience can take away and apply to their own lives. This is where Nick Melidonis excels. He’ll draw you into his world of landscapes, travel and fine art with inspirational images, then describe a simple process you can follow to develop your own style and create your own masterpieces. Nick’s presentation techniques are engaging, humorous and educational and he can speak on everything from composition and photographic philosophy to practical camera and Photoshop techniques – everyone leaves his seminars and workshops on a high.
