Dale Neill and Nick Melidonis, in collaboration with UWA Extension, the City of Fremantle, Team Digital, Camera Electronics and WA Camera Clubs again present a fascinating line-up of photographic talent for Light Fantastic 2010.
Australian Geo shooter and magazine editor Nick Rains from Queensland will be our keynote speaker. Hear Nick reveal his secrets for capturing stunning landscapes for fine art and publishing. Leading professional glamour photographer Gary Sarre unveils how he shoots and prints his black and white portraits. Denis Glennon returns with secrets for capturing decisive moments in wildlife photography and aerial photographer Jon Davison from Eye in the Sky presents images to take your breath away.
A trio of Outback Shooters, Nigel Gaunt, David Bettini and Frank Richardson show you how they capture the wild beauty of the Pilbara and Kimberley for their galleries, books and fine-art images. The ever popular Travellers Tales will showcase the work of four local photographers who have returned with amazing images and stories.
Learn how to turn your flash into a portable, compact studio with the addition of just a few simple accessories. We will demonstrate the latest mini-flashes, reflectors and ring flashes as now used by some top pro photographers.
Nick Melidonis shows you how to simply unleash the vast power of Lightroom 2 to organise and enhance your images. He will also share his recent remarkable landscape and underwater shots from Sulawesi in Indonesia, using just a compact camera. Continuing the water theme Dale shoes how you can make a portrait come alive using water as a medium. His session Pleasure and Profit will answer the perennial enthusiast’s question ‘How can I make my photography pay?’
Running side by side with the Expo are the Photographic Competition and Awards, only open to Light Fantastic participants.
Our top speakers and special guests will challenge and inspire you and make Light Fantastic THE photographic event of the year.
