Update Karijini Accident

Nick has progressed very well with his healing and has now commenced his photography, workshops and University courses and has recently launched the 2011 ‘Greek Island Odyssey Tour’; again grateful thanks to the many well-wishers and friends who have supported Nick throughout his ordeal.

Cliff Winfield took some images of the rescue.

  • The Greek Island Odyssey 2010 tour returned on Saturday May 29th and was a resounding success.Unfortunately, due to my accident in Karijini, I missed the tour and my thanks go to Frank Richardson who so ably stepped in my shoes to take over the photogaphy and Costas Demetriades who managed the tour and ran numerous workshops. Thanks a heap guys and to all the wonderful participants who made it a great adventure. I’m hoping to put up some photos from the tour soon.

  • Light Fantastic 2010 in Feb 6th and  7th has been voted by many of the 160 people who attended as the best yet. This event is now the largest annual photo enthusiast event in WA and the calibre of the speakers ensured its success. I would like to thank the key note speaker,, Nick Rains from Qld, David Bettini, Nigel Gaunt and Frank Richardson, wildlife photographer Denis Glennon and  my old friend and colleague,Dale Neill . We also thank our supporters, the WA Camera Clubs, Team Digital, Camera Electronic, The City of Fremantle . An event program is available here. An example of the feedback we received :

“I feel compelled to send my heartfelt thanks to both Dale and yourself, and your wonderful team of helpers for putting together a fabulous weekend at the Light Fantastic. This was my second year in attendance and once again you managed to far exceed my hopes and expectations. (This is a big compliment, as this year I had very high expectations based on my experience last year) The diversity of topics, perspective and approach amongst the presenters was brilliant, and the standard of work breathtaking.  I left literally feeling like I had been in another world… Such a rewarding experience to be able to close the doors on all the day to day clutter of life, and just immerse myself in a creative world with like minded individuals.)

I am bursting with inspiration; and armed with my new ideas, knowledge, perspective and tips I am looking forward to picking up my camera later today and getting out there

With Thanks,   Gerrie
